Autonomous Drone

Built a fully autonomous drone with object detection, LiDAR, and payload drop system using Jetson Orin Nano and Pixhawk.

Smart Plant Watering System

Developed an IoT-based solar-powered smart system using ESP32 for automated plant watering and condition monitoring via mobile app.

Safety Relay Integration

Designed and implemented a dual-channel safety relay system integrated with an autonomous robot for emergency shutdown protocols.

Aclarity

Designed and developed electrical schematics for Aclarity’s waste electrolysis machine, contributing to component selection, system wiring, and troubleshooting during integration.

I'm Matthew Romero, an Electrical & Computer Engineer passionate about automation, embedded systems, and robotics. From developing autonomous drones with object detection to building smart IoT systems, I enjoy blending hardware and software to solve real-world challenges.

I’ve led teams, debugged complex circuits, coded microcontrollers, and integrated full-stack systems — all while continuously learning and pushing for better, more efficient solutions. Whether it's hands-on hardware or high-level system design, I take pride in building with intention and precision.

Outside of engineering, I enjoy mentoring peers, refining my design skills, and exploring ways to use technology for meaningful impact.
